Iran: The Purges Go Global

Tehran--Iran's hard-line government said Wednesday that it was removing 40 ambassadors and senior diplomats, including supporters of warmer ties with the West, in a shake-up that coincides with a more confrontational international stance by Iran.
The move gives the new government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the chance to purge officials favoring change who were brought in by his predecessor, Mohammad Khatami, and to install its own supporters. ...
